Desktop 1.11.5
2026-03-19 early access
Reliability
- Quick Capture Crash on macOS Fixed a crash that occurred when activating Quick Capture after closing the main window on macOS. The app now recreates the main window if needed before opening the capture dialog.
- Numerous Errors Fixed Fixed a crash when navigating with arrow keys or reordering items in lists grouped by project and many more reported by users through the in-app crash reporter.
- Changes to scheduled actions reverting after a sync conflict Fixed a bug where if you change a scheduled action after it moves to Next on another device on its scheduled date, the Android app may undo this change. Please note that a release cycle across all platforms is required to fully prevent this bug.
Usability
- Accent Folding in Search Search now treats accented and unaccented characters as equivalent. For example, searching for "ste" will find both "sterile" and "stérile". This is especially useful for multilingual users.
- Floating Button to Restore Hidden Sidebar If you drag the sidebar separator all the way to the left, a floating button now appears when you hover near the left edge of the window, allowing you to restore the sidebar to its default width.
- Cmd+Enter on macOS On macOS, Cmd+Enter now saves and closes the item editor, matching the standard macOS convention. Previously only Ctrl+Enter worked.
- Show More Items in Trash Fixed the "Show More" button in the Trash, which was not doing anything when clicked.
- Tab from Search Input Selects First Search Result Pressing Tab while the search input is focused now moves the cursor to the first search result, making keyboard-only workflows faster.
- Search Results Update After Item Creation When a search filter is active and you create a new matching item, the search results now update immediately without requiring you to re-submit the search.
- Quick Capture Window Scaling on Windows Fixed an issue where the Quick Capture window was incorrectly scaled on Windows, causing buttons to be cropped at the bottom.
- Tab Key No Longer Triggers Focus Navigation Pressing Tab when no input is focused no longer cycles through UI elements or shows focus rectangles around the navigation panel. This affected macOS packaged builds in particular.
- Keep Inbox Status When Assigning a Project in Quick Capture Selecting a project in the pop-up capture dialog no longer automatically switches the item from Inbox to Active. The Inbox status button also remains visible after a parent project is assigned.
Appearance
- Borderless Window on macOS The app now uses a sleek borderless window on macOS, for modern look and feel.
- Trailing Newlines No Longer Rendered in Descriptions Extra blank lines at the end of an item's description are no longer rendered, resulting in a cleaner look.
- White Flash on Startup in Dark Mode Eliminated the brief white flash visible when launching the app in dark mode. The window background now matches the active theme from the start.
Productivity
- Copy Item as Markdown You can now copy any item as formatted Markdown text via the context menu. The copied text includes the title, description, project, notebook, and tags — perfect for pasting into an LLM, a document, or a chat.
- Chrome Extenstion for Quick Capture A new Chrome extension lets you capture selected text from any web page and send it directly to Everdo as a new inbox item. The extension communicates with the Everdo desktop app's local API.
Sync Status and Onboarding
- Redesigned Sync Status Indicator A new status icon in the toolbar shows at a glance whether the app has the most recent data. A cloud-with-checkmark means everything is up to date; a cloud-with-cross indicates a problem. Clicking the icon shows details about the current sync state.
- Improved Sync Onboarding Flow The sync setup and device pairing flows have been replaced with a single, streamlined onboarding modal. This covers account creation, sign-in, email verification, encryption key setup, first sync, and mobile pairing — all in one place.
Privacy
- Stack Trace Path Sanitization Crash report stack traces sent by users are now sanitized to remove local file system paths before submission, preventing accidental disclosure of usernames or directory structures.
iOS 1.9.3

Usability
- Dark mode The app now suppports dark mode, which can be enabled in system settings. By default, it is set to follow the system appearance setting.
- Editor layout The item title field now wraps to multiple lines, making it easier to edit long titles. The entire editor layout is now scrollable, so it works better on smaller screens and with long titles and descriptions.
- Someday list filtering consistency This concerns Someday actions belonging to a project which is itself Someday. Such actions are now excluded from the global Someday list, making the behavior consistent across platforms.
- Do not render newlines at the end of item descriptions If an item's description starts or ends with empty lines, they will now be ignored and not take space in the item's layout.
- Home screen quick action Long-pressing the app icon on the home screen now shows an "Add to Inbox" shortcut.
Stability
- Changes to scheduled actions reverting after a sync conflict Fixed a bug where if you change a scheduled action after it moves to Next on another device on its scheduled date, the iOS app may undo this change. Please note that a release cycle across all platforms is required to fully prevent this bug. As of now, it is fixed on Android and iOS.
- Item layout on orientation changes Fixes a regression introduced in the previous release where if you rotate the device, some items may have invalid layout until the view refreshes.
Android 1.9.5-1.9.9
2026-02-08 production
Usability
- Background sync The app now syncs in the background every 15 minutes (operating system permitting) so that your data is much more likely to be up to date when you open the app after not using it for a while. Please read the documentation page to learn more about the limitations of background sync on Android: https://everdo.net/docs/sync/android-background-sync You can visit https://sync.everdo.net/ to see the last time your devices synced and verify that background sync is working on your Android.
- View state persistence The app now reliably restores the complete configuration of the current view including Area, List, Filters and Search.
- Share form will automatically dismiss after first use When sharing from another app to Everdo, the submit button will now dismiss the share form, so you don't have to do it manually.
- Browser sharing consistency The app now applies a smarter approach to parsing the data shared by browsers to ensure that the captured content is the same for different browsers and contains more relevant information from the shared page.
- Shared items not appearing in Inbox instantly Fixed an issue where shared items sometimes did not appear in the Inbox until a sync or refresh.
- Theme selector setting Added a setting to select the app theme (light/dark/system) instead of always following the system theme.
- UI element obstruction issues Because of the new edge-to-edge design, some UI elements could be obstructed by notches or system bars on certain devices. This has been fixed for all known cases.
- Project selector filtered to match the selected Area When selecting a parent for an action, the list of selectable parents is now narrowed down to only the ones that belong to the current Area.
- Quick add notification tapped from the lock screen Fixed an issue where the quick capture UI failed to load if the notification was tapped from the lock screen.
- Deleting individual items from Trash You can now delete individual items from the Trash list by swiping them left instead of having to empty the entire Trash.
- Some Project actions are missing from Next Fixed the bug where next actions of a new project would not appear in the global Next list until the app was restarted.
- Do not render newlines at the end of item descriptions If an item's description starts or ends with empty lines, they will now be ignored and not take space in the item's layout.
- Navigating back via swipe navigation triggers an unsaved changes dialog Fixed an issue where you could lose unsaved edits by using a swipe back gesture.
- Search can't find items in Inbox not belonging to the current Area Fixed a bug where searching in Inbox couldn't find items unless they belonged to the currently selected Area.
- Some items not sortable Fixed a bug where some items could get into a state where you couldn't sort them using drag and drop.
Appearance
- Dark theme consistency Fixed some UI elements not following the dark theme.
Performance
- UI stutters and animation smoothness Fixed a lot of performance issues that were causing UI stutters and janky animations when navigating between screens or opening the navigation drawer.
Stability
- Duplicate Reminders Fixed an issue where duplicate reminders were created for the same item.
- Yellow-colored tags Fixed a bug that caused yellow tags created in the Android app to not be recognized as yellow on other platforms, or even crash the app sometimes.
- Crashes and ANRs Investigated and fixed a number of crashes and hangs of the app.
- Swipe to sync gesture getting stuck Fixed a bug that would sometimes get into a state where swipe to sync doesn't work and/or the spinner indicating sync is in progress gets stuck on the screen.
- Changes to scheduled actions reverting after a sync conflict Fixed a bug where if you change a scheduled action after it moves to Next on another device on its scheduled date, the Android app may undo this change. Please note that a release cycle across all platforms is required to fully prevent this bug.
iOS 1.8.1

Usability
- Filter section now stays open when returning from editor When returning to a list from an editor screen, the filter section (if it was open) will now remain open instead of being dismissed.
- Description editor flexible height The description editor now expands and contracts based on the content size, so that more editor controls fit on the screen vertically.
- Back button removed from views where going back is impossible The back button in the app's toolbar is now hidden on screens where going back is not possible, such as the main views like Inbox, Next and so on.
Appearance
- Visual glitches in sync configuration screens Fixed several styling and layout issues in sync configuration screens.
- Description lines containing only checkboxes Lines that contain only checkboxes are now rendered correctly instead of being truncated vertically.
Reliability
- Crashes and ANRs This release includes fixes for numerous crashes and hangs, improving overall app stability.
Performance
- Performance improvements Numerous optimizations have been made to make rendering of items faster and list scrolling smoother.
Desktop 1.10.4
2026-01-06 production
Reliability
- Graceful Handling of System Clock Jumps Previously, if the OS clock was set incorrectly to a future date or jumped significantly, the scheduler for repeating actions could malfunction, potentially generating thousands of unintended actions. The app now detects these anomalies and pauses execution, allowing you to fix the system clock or adjust the repeating rules safely.
- Privacy-First Error Reporting System We have introduced a new first-party implementation for crash and error reporting in the desktop app. This replaces previous mechanisms with a more reliable form that submits reports directly to us, ensuring complete privacy and faster triage of stability issues. When you first run the new Everdo version, you might see the "Report Error" button appear. This likely means the system detected an error that happened in the past. To hide the button, you can either submit the report, or discard it.
- Scheduling in Some Timezones Fixed scheduling errors for users in timezones with offsets greater than +12 hours (e.g., New Zealand).
Usability
- Quick Capture Positioning The Quick Capture window no longer attempts to remember its last position, which caused issues on multi-monitor setups or when displays were disconnected. The window will now always open at the center of the display that currently holds the mouse pointer. Please note that on some Linux (Wayland) systems cursor tracking is limited. On such systems, Quick Capture will always open on the primary display.
- Quick Capture Initial Focus Addressed a bug where the Quick Capture window failed to gain focus immediately on certain systems.
- Main Window Focus on Quick Capture Dismiss Resolved an issue where the main window would jump to the foreground when Quick Capture was submitted or dismissed.
- Standard Quit on MacOS The app no longer quits when the main window is closed. It now follows the standard MacOS convention (application remains running; use Cmd+Q to quit).
- Initial Window Size Fixed a bug occurring on first launch where the window would initialize too small to fit contents or too large to fit the display.
- Layout Breaking Due to Scroll Fixed a UI rendering issue caused by pressing Page Up in specific contexts.
- Layout Breaking Due to External Display Disconnection Fixed navigation panel layout corruption occurring when an external display is disconnected.
- Keyboard Shortcuts Fixed an issue where custom shortcuts involving the Esc key were not registering.
- Default Areas no Longer Removed The Home and Work tags are no longer removed when you click "Delete Tutorial" after installing Everdo on a new device.
- Go to Created Project Shortcut The shortcut now works not only for created projects, but also for items converted to a project via the editor or the inline
: pcommand. - Miscellaneous Minor styling and wording improvements throughout the app.
New Functionality
- Trash Management You can now permanently delete individual items from the Trash, rather than being forced to empty the entire Trash at once.
Sync
- Tag Duplication on First Sync Fixed the Home and Work areas getting duplicated when sync first runs in cases where Everdo is installed on more than one desktop system.
